MARIA BOIJ (b 1966) lives and works in Stockholm. She received her artistic education at the University of Arts, Crafts, and Design, Stockholm, where she graduated with a Master in 2003, Pernby School of Painting and Nyckelviksskolan, Stockholm. Maria Boij has had several solo shows and participated in numerous group shows at, among others, Liljevalchs+, Stockholm, Höganäs Museum, Höganäs, Skövde konsthall, Skövde, Eskilstuna konstmuseum, Eskilstuna, Arsenalsgatan 3, Stockholm, Göteborgs konstmuseum, Kulturhuset, Stockholm, Galleri Röda Sten, Gothenburg. Maria Boij has received several grants; The Swedish Arts Grants Committee, Hertha Bengtsson's Scholarship Fund, Estrid Ericson's Foundation, IASPIS, Ulla Fröberg-Cramers Scholarship Foundation, to mention a few. She is represented at, among others, the Swedish Arts Council, Röhsska Muséet, Gothenburg, Nationalmuseum, Stockholm and the Swedish Arts Council. Maria Boij has made several public commissions, The Clock and the Mountain, 2019, at Nacka Hospital, Stockholm and XX in Västerås, to mention a few.
